Bird of Paradise

These Bird of Paradise flowers growing in the garden outside the apartment where we are staying in Brisbane this week remind me of our days designing printed textiles for USA menswear - these, along with hibiscus were flowers that featured on Hawaiian prints...and yes, beyond the flowers we are fortunate to look out on a sandy beach!
